Carmen was a Design/production intern for Karolina Zmarlak in 2019. There she aided and assisted the production team with completing cut tickets, Quality control of the factory production, and creation of technical designs for the 2020 production line sheet.
At first Carmen interned for Vogue Vignette as a social media intern. as time went on Carmen aided and assisted the company owner with live sketching events. Carmen became one of the first traveling live sketch artists for Vogue Vignette.
Carmen Illustrated and designed custom wedding, and ready to wear attire using personalized croquis for clients. By utilizing adobe illustrator and photoshop she also assisted Linda Asaf with developing flats and applying prints to custom designs.
Carmen schieved a certificate in Business Foundations from the McCombs school of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
Carmen was the Social Media and Events Coordinator Officer for AATCC Texas chapter. She won Honorable Mention for AATCC's "Fashion For All" competition in 2018.
Carmen was a student Ambassador and member of the Mentoring Committee for the School of Human Ecology (SOHE). During her time with SOHE she aided in promoting SOHE related events and helped connect mentors and mentees together.
At her final year in UT, Carmen lead a team of Design at Apricity Magazine. Carmen was in charge of leading a team of designers in creating design elements and developing the 4th volume layout for 2020 magazine.
Carmen was a research assistant for a Green Fund funded project related to sustainability in Textiles and Apparel. Carmen and her partner Initiated a textile recycling program on campus in 2018 and lead research in textile recycling on campus.
Carmen worked as a Career Peer for the College of Natural Sciences Career Services Center. During her time she developed appropriate work attire examples designed to be inclusive and non-binary in 2018.
